Oil injection yrs?
Have a 1996 Yamaha 200TXRU oil injected outboard with a "bad" CDI unit. The part # is 64E-85540-01, and I know this part # was used with several of the V6 motors of that time (175-225). My question is when did the part # change from 64D to 64E, and when was the next change? i.e.(yr models for that particular CDI unit?) I think it has something to do with going from pre-mix fuel to oil injection, as the 64D has 6 wires and the 64E has only 4 wires. I'm asking so that I can cruise the classifieds for possible parts matches, etc. The price of a new one really hurt my feelings!

cdi unit will fit 1996 through 1999 models
