old motor, new control box?

I have a 1985 70etlk with 6 original hours on it, its in pristine condition. I am restoring a flats boat which will have a center console on it, and I want the remote control box to go on the center console. Is there anyway to use (adapt)a modern 704 control box, instead of the 703 side mount it came with originally? The 703 also contains the key switch which the 704 does not. Please advise

The 704 control will work, will have to change the throttle arm in control to pull to open throttle operation.
Would need to use a dash mounted switch panel and a main harness
