I have a '89 Yamaha 130 2 stroke that has an issue I first thought was a fuel issue, but I have cleaned the carbs repeatedly, have replaced the fuel lines, the fuel pump, etc... but the problem persists. What is happening is that the motor will crank and idle just fine when cold. It will run rpms below 3000 or so without a problem, but when I throttle up the motor surges and completely bogs down at times. If I leave the throttle in the forward position after throttling up the motor will run roughly below plane, then will suddenly surge and plane off only to bog down and run roughly again a few minutes later. If I leave the throttle alone it will eventually do the same thing again. When it surges and planes off the engine runs smoothly up to a maximum of about 4500 rpms then will not run any higher rpms. The longest it has kept the higher rpms and run smoothly was about 5 minutes. Could this be either a CDI or a pulser coil issue?
