Weak Electric Current at Gauge

What would cause my gauge to have a weak alarm buzzer sound when key is turned on and also a momentary blink if I hit the trim switch?
Also, when I first turn the key, the initial LCD reading is kind of ghostly.
It's there, but not a 100% bright black.
This is while the motor is not running.
This is a 1991 200 HP.
The gauge in question is the LCD RPM/Trim gauge.
Other gauges not affected. Thanks.

Sounds like have bad wire connections, check all connectors and grounds.
