  • F15O new lower unit

I have a 2007 f150 that I took to a dealer from some maintenance. Called today for a update. Was told I new a new lower unit due to gear damage, cost $2000 plus labor. This engine has a ss prop, that has a small ding from last season, but I never noticed and vibration, the dealer said there was metal in lower unit oil, and it would be cheaper tom replace than fix then unit. Last fall I had no metal, I have been running this prop that did hit a rock with for a year and half with so issues. Right off the bat the dealer said put it through your insurance and and don,t worry about it. Called other dealer and was told he could rebuilt lower unit for $1000 but thought we could claim it from yamaha. Meanwhile lower unit is off engine and my bill is for 7 hours labor.
    What due I be leave!

If this dealer is a Yamaha dealer, you can call Yamaha and see if they can help you with it.
