nmea 2000

I have a 2002 Yamaha 150 TXRA. I want to hook up a engine interface cable to my low HDS 10. I have hear that not all of Yamaha engines are NMEA 2000 compliant. Does anyone know if and what year (model) they become complianted? and is their another way to hook this up and make it work?

Only 2006 and newer fuel injected models are 2000 compatable.
