I replaced the fuel filters on my 2003 yamaha 250 2 stroke and it runs ok except when I am at full throttle 5400 rpm it tends to drop down to 5000 after about 10 seconds. When I let off the throttle and accelerate again it returns to the higher RPM and then drops down again. It feels like it is running out of fuel. I checked to make sure the filters were tight. My question is about the small glass resevoir inside the engine cowling holding the gas filter. When the engine is running should this resevoir be completely filled with gas? When I pump the primer ball it fills completely but after a minute or so it drops down about a third of the way. I'm thinking maybe a small hole in the primer bulb?
