Motor trouble / red fuel

I have two 1988 130 HP yamaha motors. the port motor stars up but looses RPM's and stalls when put in gear. I have checked the fuel and it is clear and no water at the separator. When I remove the fuel line from the engine side of the bulb the fuel has a red color to it, when pressing the bulb it comes out clear. I am not sure how the fuel is changing color and if this could be the problem with the running of the motor. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Gas may be too old, if so then may need to remove and clean carbs.
