HELP1991 Yamaha 200 Pro-v problems

I have a 1991 200 Pro-v Yamaha.

I have had constant problems getting the engine to run correctly.

I will hammer the throttle out of the hole and some days it will only rev to 2000rpm.
Other days it will pull to 5200-5400 rpm and stop revving just like there was a brick under the throttle.Engine is not over propped with a 21 pitch Rev-4 4 blade.Engine idles excellent!

I rebuilt carbs last year.
Engine has 150 lbs compression across the board.Custom heads.
Replaced both fuel pumps 2 years ago.I have checked them and they DO NOT LEAK.Clean fuel filter.
New gas lines 2 years ago.
Ignition set at 22 BTDC and 6 ATDC at idle.

I am begining to wonder if I need to look into the ignition system???

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Stock Yamaha gauge set.

If the compression and fuel system is ok then may be an ignition problem, would have to check to see if firing on all cylinders when it will only run at 2000 rpm's with a timing light.
