2.5 hp starts, then stalls

2.5 hp will start, run for 3-4 seconds, then stall. Air screw is open, fuel is switched on, choke open, throttle to the far right. It is a new carb as of last year. Any ideas ?? Thanks, Maine Mikie

2.5hp mercury 2002 2 stroke carb rebuild

hey I have a 2.5 mercury 2 stroke 2002 and just purchest it. ran it and it started and then turned choke off and it stalled and then started it again but it wont idle. fuel tank is clear also the filter is think maybe a carb rebuild and I was wondering if any1 has had the same problem and could let me know. also how and where is the water pump on this engine
