I have a 90hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard that will not start. I changed the battery and it still will not make a noise. It will also not tilt up or down, yet all my gauges and acc work. Someone told me it is probably the solenoid, but they could not tell me how to test. Please help! Thanks

How do I test a Yamaha outboard solenoid?

Check voltage across the 2 small wires on the solenoid coil with the key turned to start position. If there is 12+ voltage the solenoid should energize. If it doesn't replace it. Also you could bypass the contacts. Be prepared for a large arch.
From what you describe I would be looking for a poor connection instead of solenoid problems.
