  • 2005 F250 WOT Stumbles

While running approx 4000 rpm, decided to peg the throttle and try out WOT. Seemed fine at first, but after 2-3 min started to stumble and miss. There were no warning alarms or indicators and after I let off the throttle to 4000 rpm, running was fine again.

My local Yamaha dealer suggested a "complete fuel system overhaul". This would include removal of injectors ans soaking them to be free of any build-up, and changing filters and valves that are "dealer maintenance" items. He referred to it as a $1200 job.

Any feedback for this diagnosis will be appreciated.

Fuel problems is the most common problem for loss of rpm's.

i'm going to try cleaning the fuel filter according to the owner manual and adding some fuel system cleaner to the gas tank.

please, what is vst tank? also, i see two other fuel filters on the two injector pump schematics. they look like filters for what appears to be two pumps. are these typically done by the owner? i'm fairly handy.
