  • Command Link interface with older electronics(Raytheon V850)

I recently repowered my 1996 Grady White Gulfstream with a F250BTXR and the square Command Link Tach and Speed/Fuel Management Guages. The dealer tried to connect the V850 Echo Sounder/plotter(vintage 1996) output to the speed/fuel mngt guage but it does not work. The data out is NMEA 0183 from the GPS and the Triducer(depth and water temp) same vintage.

Is the Command Link system capable of receiving data from older NMEA 0183versions? The last and final software update for the V850 was late 1990s. If not, is there an up converter to a readable version or nmea2k?

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

Question rephrased: What version of NMEA 0183 input does the command Link Guages require?

      This is information from manual
NMEA0183 sentences used by this system
The information above is based on NMEA0183 versions 2.0, 2.1, and 3.01.
      Display Sentence
      Speed/time RMC
      Depth DBT
      Water surface temperature
      MTW

You can install a NMEA 2000 Gateway, part number MAR-GTWAY-ML-09 to Command link to transmitt engine data to GPS unit over the NMEA 2000 network.
