02 90hp Shifting Issues

I have a 02' 90hp 2stroke and having an issue with shifting into either forward or reverse. The problem is more so that it is tough to in-gauge into forward or reverse. There isn't any problem with the gearing, its just tough pushing the throttle into forward or reverse or back into neutral this is happening weither i have the motor on or off. It seems like i need to lube something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try lubing the cable if you can leave it for a week........... remove cable from remote find plastic bottle that will fit tightly over cable and fill with wd40 and let it soak through

Sounds like your throttle friction screw may be set too tight, try backing it off a little. On the 703 control box, it's the slot-head screw on the front of the unit. If you back it off and it's still tight then problem may be in your control cable. Good luck and let us know what you find.
