1985 150 yamaha. max rpm's 3500.compression,ignition,carbs,fuel supply,exhaust ports are good.Runs great up to 3500 rpm's.Replace control mod.& power pack.

If it all was good then it should run properly.
All motors need good even compression and hot spark at the proper time along with the proper fuel/air mix to run properly. Something is missing at least at higher RPMs if it will not get above 3500.
When was the last time it did run properly? -
It ran good until end of spring.Then it cut back to max rpm's of 3500.We were thinking that the power pack was cutting back or the control mod. was failing,but that wasn't the case.We rebuilt the carbs,check fuel pressure,remove power head check for exhaust blockage found nothing wrong.We check timing and it was ok,check throttle opening it was ok.Comment
