  • Need help on powerhead removal F115

My2000 F115 lost oil pressure. going to check oil pump. removed 6 long bolts and 2 short bolts. using chian tackle to lift engine straight up. seems to be holding by crank. is it splined and just tight or is something else holding it back? what is the best way to remove? please help!

can you be more specific.I don't see any studs with nuts, unless your talking about the 2 studs that run horizontally attatched to swivel point at front of motor.

        Look At

Look at the parts breakdown for this engine on this web site. Just click on the "purchase yamaha parts. Look at "Cylinder Crankcase 1, item 12" this may be what you are overlooking.

***!!! I finally got it off. There are no studs in front that have to be removed # 12 are only guide pins. only 6 long pan bolts and 2 short bolts at rear of engine all from the bottom up.the shaft to spine was seized bigtime!! We had a hard time freeing it but its finally off. oil pump spline was striped. driveshaft spline also wore going to change both.have 1000 hrs on engine this is 1st major repair.
