  • Spun Prop

I spun the prop on my boat this weekend. It is a 97' ZX 202 Skeeter with a Yamaha PRO-V 200. I didnt hit anything and it happened about a 1/10 of a mile after i left a swimming hole. I havnt had the boat long so i'm not sure what was done to it before. The prop only has a couple very small dings on the edges that were there when i bought it.

I need to know what other props will work. A fairly local marina has a Quicksilver prop that says its for a Mercury or Yamaha 225 hp. I was talking to someone over there and he says he's not sure if it'll work for my engine?? He read the numbers off the prop to me over the phone and it says QUICKSILVER 44D 25P and he said there was a 14 inside the hub. I'm assuming that is pitch. I'm not sure how it stacks up against my 25M because i dont know the specs on it. Since i have to buy one soon i need to know what my options are. Currently the boat will run 67 mph with 2 people, 50 gal. of gas and light load. I'm open to props that will give me around the same performance but i dont want a prop that'll make the boat a dog either. I'm hoping to avoid having to buy a new one and need to know what other props will fit my needs providing i cant find a 25M. I will be sending mine off for repair but i desperately need one by Friday so i will use the repaired prop for a spare.

I am a first time poster. I was using google to get some information and came across this site. This site looks to be very informative and i'm sure i will be using this site in the future. Thanks to everyone for any help or info given.

    Thanks guys,

I found a prop that will work. This quicksilver is an old laser 1 prop. Would it be a descent replacement for the 25m that I am currently running? The laser is 13.75 x 25 and the 25m is 14.5 x 25. So the laser is a bit smaller. What can I expect as far as hole shot and top end compared to the 25m?

    Thanks guys

Why not send or take your original prop to a Prop Shop and have it re-bushed and the dings taken out???

It is relatively in expensive to have it done and does not take very long to do.
