four stroke 40tlr (digital tach)

Hey need help. Just rigged up newer motor and tach on my boat. Stated it up ran it in the tank for a while. Then i notice that when I turn key to the on position the tach lights up momentary then resets and when it does the oil light and the trim indicator very top mark start flashing? This is with or with out the motor running. Any ideas?? Fishman1

Make sure tach is set correctly
Set for 4 stroke engine, 2 wire trim sender and 12 pole alternator.
