  • Another prop size question

I just bought a brand new 2010 50 2-stroke. Unlike my 10-year old 20hp it did not come with a prop or an owner's manual. Our local dealer only had one prop size in stock so that's what I've got. For anything else I have to order special and have it shipped - an expensive way to try out alternatives.

Any idea what the usual range of prop sizes would be for this motor? Even if I had a tachometer on it - which I don't yet - I don't know what the WOT range would be either.

    Thanks

Look at this site and find your boat/motor or something real simulator and check out the props they used

Thanks - that gives me a good set of info for a baseline.

My boat is heavier than anything there so I think a larger pitch will accomodate that. Now to invest in a good tach and trim meter!

      Thx again.

What kind of boat are you talking about and what is the weight?
More load usually calls for a smaller pitch prop to keep from overloading the motor
