2stroke motor surging

92 200hp recently started surging, mostly between 2.5k and 4k RPM.tried new fuel/water sep,cleaned engine filter and new plugs. then tried remote 6gal fuel tank and new hose.... still surging. has been running fine up till now. whats next fuel pumps or rebuild carbs??? any thoughts greatly appreciated

Test the fuel pump pressure and vacuum. You can also check for air leaks in supply.
Best to pull and clean carbs instead of trying to clean with chemicals while running. Lean fuel/air ratios can burn pistons
