I recently purchased a 1987 9.9hp yamaha (9.9ELH). I am replacing the impeller and was trying to figure out where the water inlet is for the lower unit. There is a tube that runs from the impeller to a screw in the lower unit labeled "Wash" which I assume is for flushing. There are a couple small holes (~1/8") in the lower unit which I assume are for letting water in the lower unit drain out. I previously had a 9.9 hp Evinrude that had the typical screen but I don't see anything like that on the Yamaha. What am I missing? Where is the water inlet for feeding the impeller while in use?
