retarded F40TLRc

Does anyone know if the thermo switch on an F40TLRC can cause the engine ignition system to run retarded (Atdc) My engine runs 5* retarded @ idle, If i disconnect the thermo switch it goes to 10* retarded.

Is that cold or warmed up?

If that is while cold it sounds like it is doing what I told you on the other thread and You may need to recheck the specs in the manual for the 8 deg to be ATDC instead of the BTDC you are looking for.

Maybe some one else with a 4 stk manual can post on what their manual states.

Hot or cold doesn't make a difference. I checked the resistance according to manual & it checks OK. My manual is for the F40 series engines, but i have been finding discrepancies.

Apparently it is not a Yamaha manual or is it?
