  • Steering problem

I have a 1986 Bomber with a Yamaha 115. When I let go of the wheel the boat wants to pull hard to the right. Is there some type of adjustment that can be made to fix this?

Sounds like your not trimming the motor or boat correctly. I have a 150 and there always seems to be a mild pull to the right but nothing serious. Someone said here that it had to do with the torque and rotation of the motor. But I can let go of the wheel without the boat swerving violently, just a slow gentle pull to the right.

If I let go of the wheel it pulls hard to the right, scary hard. I would like to know what to look for. If it's something to do with the cable system or something else.

Still think you have the boat trimmed wrong. JMHO

By no means take this advise as if i was a mechanic. However, i have a 20 footer Maycraft with a 200hp and it had the same problem. My Yamaha mechanic moved the anode piece on the lower unit in the opposite direction and it worked like magic. There is no more pulling at all. Good luck!

I just looked at mine and it has lines above it. How far did he move it? One line or more?
