ground wire from engine to power trim tilt

recently the ground wire detached from the ring it was connected to, this wire goes from the plate on my transom to the power tilt unit. the screw that hols the wires soderless connecter is striped, can this ground wire go anywear else on the tilt unit.

Is this the bonding strap for cathodic protection or the ground wire for the trim motor?No one but you knows what brand and what motor you are talking about

the motor is a 2001 yamaha 90 hp 2 cycle. the ground wire is attached to the front of the steering tube an dgoes under the tube and attaches to inside the tilt frame.

just put it back on the tilt otherwise it will be eaten away just find another screw to place it under or find some where you can place a stainless self tapper make sure that there is plenty of meat and you are not drilling into a cavity
