Looking to shorten ex-long shaft down.

I GOT A 8HP 2004 High Thruster with a ex-long shaft on it and I want to pull her down to a long shaft. What all does this involve? I have worked on older models before. Thanks Tim

Would have to change drive shaft in gearcase, upper shift, water tube and remove extension housing.

Thats what I thought.

Guess I will just run a few inches longer than I need on my 28in transom. Thanks Tim
