Motor alarm

The alarm went off this afternoon on my motor. Does this mean the water pump is bad. Also, do I need to do anything to the lower unit?

Don't know what motor you have but could be overheat alarm or low oil warning if an oil injected model or low oil pressure if four stroke engine.
