Dont know the year, yet the parts ive bought here work!

Ive bought parts here for my outboard and they work, but i still dont know the real year

It is a Mariner ..(yet has yamaha logo casted in alot of the components)

the guy i bought it from said it was a 1986 or newer
but the upper engine looks brand new condition

It's between 1979 and 1988 but don't know exact year.

i have it narrowed down to that myself and like i said all the parts ive bought are fitting and work fine, i just hope i can get much closer to the actual year. The throttle lever i bought is the one but before i got it in the mail i made a new end for the old one at work and its made from stainless steel and i tig welded it on so it wont break like the molded original one did and probably would again. Im a tool and die maker and have access to the machines to build about anything i need
