40hp same as 50hp?

they are both three cylinders. the 40 is a 99 and the 50 is a 2000. Just wondering if the parts are interchangeable or not. Particularly the bracket is what I would be swapping, since one has electric tilt and the other doesn't. thanks

Confirmed that the blocks are the same. But I am still unsure of the bracket. Anyone know if the brackets are interchangeable? Thanks

look up the part #s and see if the same.

I appreciate your reply, however the part numbers won't be the same since they are completely different brackets. I was trying to find the part of the engine were the brackets attach to but I'm having a hard time finding it boats.net. Anyway I don't think yamaha wouldnake a completely different mount just for a different bracket.

Hammerhead 60hp

Hi Guys,
I have a hammerhead 60hp 60BE outboard 1979-1983(still has side mounted lift assists) Motor is in awesome condition, but i was wondering if i could convert to Power Trim and Tilt? I got hold of a 90hp Yamaha bracket with Power trim, but need to convert with spacers etc. Where could i get Schematic diagrams for this old 60hp BE motor?

Has anybody done this knd of conversion before?
