Fuel line/bulb requirements for 6 hp 2-stroke

1993 6MSHR. Bought used 6 today and when seller handed me the fuel bulb line, he said,"these go with it". Handed me 2- 1/4" ball bearings and 2- compression springs. No grommet/retainers at either end on the females on tank hose/bulb. 1) Could this have been his problem when he said it runs 22' and dies? I assumed the balls/springs were checks to keep hose full. Is this a 1/4" i.d. hose? What is the fuel mix ratio on a 1993 6mshr?

Yes you need new fuel hose with connectors(6Y1-24306-53-00).
Oil ratio is 100:1.
