LZ250TXRC trim/tilt motor issue

Hi all, new here. Helping out a friend in need. His trim tilt quit working. Have solid power from the relays to the motor, but motor won't turn. Tapped the motor with a piece of wood and it started moving, but sounds funky near the ends of travel. (used the manual over-ride screw to raise motor to trailer home last trip). Can the motor be repaired, or replaced independant of the entire unit? Thanks for any help.

yes the motor can be replaced separately.
There are even aftermarket motors along with ones from Yamaha.
May just need brushes, but may have got water and rust inside. Just have to look
