One hour after having O2 sensor holder and joint replaced (it was all carboned up) I was coming in to dock at approx 1000 Rpms when the engine (a 2005 200hp hpdi) started shaking and making a clunking noise like the cover was loose and the it quit. After stalling I kept hearing a rhymic,thumping sound. When I got into dock I started the engine and it sounded a little rough but I didn't put it into gear. The noise seemed to come from the sensor area. The mechanic at the mariner said without looking it might be the lower unit. Has anyone had this kind of problem? I don't want to get beat again on a larger repair then is required. thanks for any help.
