I have a Yamaha 2002-F225TXRA that the Tilt has started giving me problems. I have refilled the reservoir and it is full. The system acts like there is air in it but I have run the tilt up and down and the reservoir stays full.
The problem is when I rev the engine in reverse the engine floats up. The trim motor is not running but the engine tilts up. I can run the tilt down and the engine won’t go all the way down unless I put it in forward gear.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there another way to bleed air out of the system?(Besides running the tilt up and down) Do I have a relief valve somewhere in the system that is stuck open? Any help would be appreciated.
