  • Fresh water flushing F250

Hi, I have a question for the board. When I hook up my fresh water flush, I get no water out of the Pee hole, although plenty of water comes out of all the other flushing point in the lower unit. According to my mechanic, this is ok. I am curious to know what everyone elses feeling is. BTW with the motor in the down position in the water, if I start it and then turn it off, the pee hole works fine. Help

    Thanks
    Peter

You are OK...Weep hole most likely has a dirt dogger or some clogg in it.

I have freed up the tubing with water pressure from hose. You can run a fine wire or even better some fishing line 80-Lb or so into the tube and free up the
clogg..Remember flush out hookup is only to flush cooling system..
DO NOT RUN ANY ENGINE WHILE THIS OPERATION IS IN PROCESS!!!

    Have A Great Day!!

My new F75LTR pees when hooked up to the flushing port.
A good sign...telling me that fresh water is getting into the water pump and finding it's way out the pee hole.

      On edit:
The selling dealer told me, matter of factly and with a total straight face, to use a salt flushing solution EVERYTIME after use in saltwater......he went on to say, doing that will make your engine last 2 years longer.
Hype or fact.....I now use SaltAway at every flush.

Has anyone lost the rubber washer/gasket in the garden hose flush attachment? Mine went for a swim yesterday and I can't find a part number on the yamaha site. I'm guessing a standard garden hose washer may work but am not sure I want to take the chance. I have a F-250TUR manufactured in 2006 - the ring was yellow. Thanks!

I may have found the part - 6R3-12583-00-00, but seems to be backordered everywhere. Hope this tiny thing doesn't kill my summer of boating...appreciate anyone's thoughts on the garden hose washer.

buy a 6 pack of them at ace.
other than it will drip, wont hurt to run with it missing.
