1997 C150 TLRV fuel filter

How do I change the fuel filter on this particular model? I have no manual and can't find anything relevant in my searches. Mechanic at Yamaha dealership said just to clean and reuse the one I have, (they didn't have any in stock) is that wise? Thanks for any replies.

The white cup unscrews from upper housing, you can clean them if they are not too bad but better to replace it.
