Fuel Sending unit problem

Ok so i found that my sending unit in my tank is leaking . The problem is that the bolts that are in the tanks inside are not working and some are gone right now. So i need to find a way to be able to bolt the sending unit to the tank but using some kind of adapter or metal plate in the inside. I was wondering if anyone has done something like this. I have polyutherane tank. Or may cover the orginal hole and make a new one but still i need to be able to bolt it to the tank.

Best not to try and patch it, fuel leaks are extremely dangerous.
