Electrical or Fuel Problem?

If engine is running at full throttle and just quits without hesitation & won't start until the next day. Seems as if it is missing or losing power. Is that an electrical problem or fuel problem? Yamaha Outboard 1987 model #6LH

i would start with the fuel system was the motor over heating

sounds elect to me, check spark when this happens

sounds electrical,fuel issues kind of creep into the picture when motor was running good before,good luck
