I tried to replace my prop seals but could not remove the Bearing Housing.
Gave up and brought it to a mechanic.
After working on it for a couple of hours they decided that it would be cheaper for me to buy a replacement lower than have them keep trying.
I did some more research online and with nothing to lose at this point I was able to get the seals out using a dent puller with a long thin drywall screw.
Now I needed to put it back together. The shop had removed the Shift Cam assembly. Could not figure out how to get this back in....gave up again and brought it back for them to replace what they had taken apart. Was told that you can't put that back in unless you pull the Bearing Houseing which is the problem to begin with.
From everything that I have read it doesn't look like you need to pull the Shift cam assembly to pull the Bearing Housing. Is this correct?
They tried heat but I don't think that would be a reason to pull it.
