Positioning of Shift Plunger

I had to take apart the bottom end on my 15hp (15MSHF).

I neglected to note the direction to install the shift plunger. One end is flat and the other is rounded.

I'm assuming the flat end goes towards the prop? The parts diagram (Part #35) isn't really clear!
