170 con*****er problems

Looking fro some help. My MDL 170 contoller appears to need adjusting? Worked fine sking till the other day upon excellerating in forward anything faster than an idle the engine would rev up, yet no out put at the prop. Please any sugestions would be appreciated...

yes it's a Yamaha 115, 2004 mdl outboard. Have the con*****er apart and appears to look fine.

Take cables loose from engine and see if can shift into gear by moving shift lever on engine by hand.
