Production year of a Yam 115 2T

The serial number of my outboard is 115 CETO 6E5 L 390809.
Can we guestimate which model year it is ?

However the exact model year is still unclear to me.

Within the Word doc, it says
6E5 1981- 115A/115B/115C.
ie the 6E5, has been produced since 1981... so what ?
At another point it goes
6N6 1990- 115CEO/CETO
Mine is an 115CETO, but it is not an 6N6 ...

The outboard is definitely not an 1981 model... but which year is it ?
Any other clue is much appreciated, since Yam did its best to baffle me...
