  • Prop Shaft Bracket

Do I need to remove the shift assembly on a '01 150 V MAX before I can remove the shaft? I can get the shaft bearing carrier to come out about an inch. It's not in a bind, it goes back in very easily, just wont'n come any further than the end of the threads on the hub.

Will heat help? I don't want to fry the paint.

The shift shaft will need to be removed to get prop shaft out but the bearing carrier should come off over prop shaft, make sure nothing fell into exhaust cavity that stopping from coming off.

As I hit "enter" I figured want would be the harm in trying it. Everything came off with ease. Thanks. Now I just hope my shop has the gear and pinion so I can get back on the water.
