  • Motor power tilt question small hp vs large hp

In the descriptions I am reading for motors the smaller hp motors are listed as power tilt. But the larger motors are listed as power tilt and trim. Do the smaller motors not use trim or I am missing something? I thought power tilt was the largre center hydraulic rod and the trim was the smaller dual hydraulics with the smaller amount of travel. Do smaller motors not use the extra 2 cylinders? Sorry I am still a relative newbie to this.

    What are you calling small?
My 40 has only one cylinder but has t&t. it is internal to the pistons and cylinder. moves slowly for a few degrees of travel and then faster for the tilt function

Power trim will allow you to trim motor when running at high speed, power tilt can be used to trim motor at low rpm's but wont trim motor at high speed.
