oil strainer problem

The oil strainer on my '90 225hp keeps clogging. I've taken the tank apart and completely cleaned it, it was really gunked up from the previous owner. This is the third strainer i have put in. Could the pump be gunked up? i only use yamaha oil. Any suggestions appreciated. I was on Lake Erie 2 weeks ago(new strainer) ran great for 1 day then on 2nd. day coming in the alarm goes off. Thw pumps working but the strainers clogged again.

I drained the tank and ther eseems to be a jelly like substance in the bottom. Any ideas on what this might be.

Thats usually a problem with the oil, are you sure it is YamaLube Y2M oil thats in it?
