Has anyone used the chrome water pump kit, vice the stock kit (plastic pump housing), and if so, what kind of upgrade can I expect? I recently rebuilt the original pump with the Yamaha kit, and the housing was damaged from prior overheating and when I test ran the motor, it failed completely. As a side not, the original pump had an insert (SS impeller insert) with a larger hole that would accomodate slipping over the washers/seals, while the rebuild kit had an insert with a hole too small to slip over this seal. Anyone else encountered this problem?
