prop shaft?

My neighbor who is a deisel/boat motor mechanic is tryin' to replace a prop-shaft for me and I talked to him today and he said he couldnt pull the bearings in the bottom-end. He said he's put heat on them and tried other things but can't remove the bearings. Any suggestions?

Not sure, none of the bearings in gearcase should be that hard to remove.
