Charging System

I have a 2002 200Hp Yamaha HPFI that is only producing between 12.2 to 12. 4 volts while under power and 11.8 at idle.
When I hit my trim button, it drops down to 10.8 volts.
Can you help me as to where to start diagnosing the root cause?

Need to check battery cables, battery connection are clean and tight at battery and engine, load test battery. Check voltage at battery when running to verify the voltmeter in dash is accurate. Test output amps of voltage regulator.

I have checked the battery with the volt meter while runnung and the guage is correct.
