2006 F115 hr meter question

I got a used boat with the 06 F115 on it and it runs great. I saw the last report from the dealer with a read out of the hrs on it. I want to install a hr meter on the boat so I can keep track of maintaince etc.

If I install this yamaha hr meter 6Y7-83504-10-00 will this show the total hrs on the motor or just the hrs since I have installed the meter? I would like to install something to read the total hrs on the engine.

No it will only show time starting at installation. You can only retrieve ECU engine hour log with computer print out.
