My 70 has never liked to start right up. I beleive it's a early 90's w/triple carbs. I have to go thru the following ritual to get it to crank: I can crank it with the choke in or out, the throttle @ idle or advanced or any combination thereof and nothing happens. By this time the plugs are wet so I take them out & dry them. The engine usually starts right up. Am I missing something?

RC,
This is a long shot, but scroll down to where Hamfisted talks about corroded spark plug wires under "1996 Yam 115 Electrical Problem" - yours could be the same, since taking out the plugs you have to move the wires and maybe that causes them
to make contact, albeit only temporary. Worth a look.
Good luck,
Ken K
