Speedo to GPS

Can the Yamaha digital speedometer be connected to a GPS to gather speed information or is that only possible through the pitot?
If so what wires colors need to be connected to a GPS?

Not unless it's the new Command Link speedometer, the standard multifunction speedo wont.
