HPDI Water Pump Repairs

Some questions on installing water pump kits on my two 2001 150 HPDI.

Any recommendations on how to get the stuck Woodruff key out of the shaft so I can replace the impeller plate and gasket? Put penetrating oil on it, but without success.

The Impeller housing cup is stuck in the housing as well. Any thoughts on removal for this or just get another housing.

The Yamaha book calls for grease in the cup and on the impeller. Not sure why this is. Haven't done this on other motors before. Use standard Yamaha grease or don't put anything on it?

use a punch to remove key, last ditch drill it, and if cup is melted to housing you will want to replace it anyway... you will find the best prices here.

I sprayed mine with PB Blaster for a day and used a small dull coal chisel and hit it from the top of the key and it came out after several hits. Good luck

I let it set with some lubrication and got it to come out with a brass pin.
